A driver whose car struck and killed a man riding a bicycle Tuesday afternoon on the West Side has been cited for negligent driving, authorities said.
The 48-year-old man, whom authorities were not identifying, was riding his bicycle just after 4:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Chicago Avenue when he was hit by a Pontiac G6 headed west from Lawler Avenue, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The driver of the sports sedan, Victoria Fobbs, 25, of the 4900 block of West Huron Street, was cited with negligent driving and failure to reduce speed, Alfaro said.
Can the Illinois House please pass SB2951 so it can be a felony when this happens and people stop getting just a damn ticket?
